DVT (Deep Vein Thrombosis)

The Aircast VenaFlow System functions as a prophylaxis for deep vein thrombosis by using an effective combination of graduated sequential compression and rapid impulse inflation. This unique collaboration of technology increases venous velocity while enhancing fibrinolysis, thus assisting in the prevention of thrombus formation.

Each VenaFlow System includes a pump with tube assembly (cuffs are sold separately). The pump is designed to operate with any of the three VenaFlow Cuff styles: calf, foot, or thigh - no adjustments required. This universal pump design helps promote compliance, speeds application, and reduces inventory needs. The VenaFlow pump's pressure and inflate/deflate cycle are preset and automatic, with pressures shown on the digital display. Pressure alarms with corrective instructions are also illuminated if the pressure is out of range. The pressure of the VenaFlow System can be checked with the Pressure Verification Kit. A patient counter is included on the display for ease-of-use.

The easy-to-apply VenaFlow Cuffs (calf, foot, and thigh) are designed from light, cool, comfortable material to increase patient compliance. The cuffs are latex-free and may be placed directly against the skin. Each cuff style is designed for single patient use only. Tube assemblies are included with the VenaFlow pump and are available in three lengths 5.5", 8.5" and 10.5". When ordering the VenaFlow System, it must be designated which length of tubing is desired for each pump ordered. AdditionalTube Assemblies may be ordered separately.

Product Features and Benefits
  • Rapid inflation combined with graduated sequential compression results in a dramatic increase in venous velocity
  • Universal pump design is compatible with all three cuff styles (calf, foot and thigh) to minimize inventory
  • Asymmetric compression for superior emptying of veins
  • Light, cool, latex-free cuffs help promote patient compliance
  • Preset alarms and patient counter available for ease of use

ADDITIONAL DME PRODUCTS

PRONEX CERVICAL TRACTION

The lightweight, pneumatic device that has revolutionized at-home cervical traction therapy is now available to all patients.

How Pronex works:

Pronex cradles the reclining patient’s head and neck on two soft foam cushions.  One cushion supports the occiput and the other rests against the upper trapezius.  An air inflated bellows between them provides up to 20 lbs. of continuously adjustable traction.  As bellows expands, it lifts the head upward and supports the cervical curve, maintaining an even distraction in the anterior and posterior cervical discs.  Patients have total control over the amount of traction applied.  Squeezing an inflater bulb increases the pressure, a release knob gently reduces it.  There’s no strain on the temporomandibular joint.

Design advantages:

  • Comfortably supports head and neck
  • Exerts force evenly and gently
  • No pressure on the TM joint
  • Supports normal curvature of cervical spine
  • Gentle traction release
  • Light and simple enough to use while traveling
  • Encourages a high rate of patient compliance

Indications for Cervical traction:

  • Nerve impingement (sub-acute chronic phase) – herniated disc, ligament encroachment, osteophyte encroachment, spinal nerve root swelling, narrowing foramen, spondylolisthesis, spondylosis
  • Degenerative joint changes
  • Spasm/Guarding
  • Post-compression fracture
  • Joint pain/symptomatic facet joint

PROTONICS KNEE ORTHOSIS

The Protonics Functional Active Resistance Orthosis alters output of the muscles surrounding the knee by applying programmable resistance through the range of motion.  The resistance during exercises and daily activities can result in better muscle balance and alignment, which improves function.  The Protonics exercise program can be modified to each individual patient.  This helps the patient achieve treatment goals.

Indications for use:

Protonics is indicated for use with other forms of exercise to redevelop muscles, restore motion to joints, provide support, correct deformities and to align body structures for functional improvement.  It is an adjunctive component of  patellofemoral pain syndrome rehabilitation exercise programs and anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) rehabilitation.

Protonics system includes:

  • System Brace
  • 2 Flexion Modules
  • 4 Sets of Flexion Programs (8 disks total)
  • 2 Adjustment Dials

Extension Module Kit (not included, but may ordered separately)

  • 2 Extension Modules
  • 4 sets of Extension Programs (8 disks total)

Protonics Guidelines

Step One:         Perform patient assessment
Step Two:        Select the appropriate program disk
Step Three:       Fit Protonics to patient
